Pixel Fonts

6 pixel fonts for games, as TrueType files and as bitmap fonts (PNG + BMFont .fnt). Dialogue text, HUD numbers, titles and tables in one matching family. Every font has the 95 printable ASCII characters.

Licence in one line: use and embed the fonts in your commercial games; do not resell the font files.

The fonts

• Gridwright 5x7 (9 px): the main text font: capitals, lowercase, digits, punctuation
• Gridwright 5x7 Bold (9 px): the same letters one pixel heavier
• Gridwright 5x7 Mono (9 px): every character 6 px wide: for tables, timers, consoles
• Gridwright 5x7 Outline (9 px): a 1 px outline layer with the same spacing as Regular: draw it under Regular in a dark colour
• Gridwright Tiny (6 px): 3x5 capitals for HUD numbers and small labels
• Gridwright Blocky (12 px): chunky 6x10 capitals for titles

They come from two original designs: 5x7 (with lowercase) and Tiny 3x5 (capitals). Bold, Mono and Outline are built from 5x7; Blocky is Tiny at double size. Tiny and Blocky show capital shapes for lowercase letters.

Made to drop in

• TTF files for any engine or tool. Crisp at the native size and its whole multiples (9, 18, 27 px for 5x7).
• Bitmap fonts: a PNG sheet and an AngelCode BMFont .fnt per font, at 1x, 2x and 3x.
• Tested: every TTF was rendered and compared pixel for pixel with the source bitmaps.
• The Outline font is a layer: same spacing as Regular, so you get outlined text by drawing two fonts on top of each other.
• fonts.json lists sizes and metrics; the README explains how to keep text sharp.

Use the fonts in personal and commercial projects and embed them in your game or app. No resale or redistribution of the font files. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.

How it was made

The letter shapes were placed pixel by pixel in a text file and turned into fonts by code, with AI-assisted tools. No image generator was used, and no third-party fonts are included. The panels and icons in the game screenshot come from the Gridwright UI Kit, sold separately.
