About this pack

Turn renders, paintings, photos and 3D screenshots into clean pixel art on an exact grid: a limited palette, optional dithering, hard transparency and outlines. No install: it opens in your browser and works offline.

Licence in one line: use what you make in any game, commercial too.

From any image to pixel art

  • Exact grid: set the width in pixels or the source pixels per art pixel. "Sharp" keeps the most common colour in each cell, so edges stay crisp instead of muddy.
  • Palettes: automatic (2 to 64 colours, picked in a perceptual colour space), 10 built-in palettes, or your own .hex, .gpl, .pal, .txt or .png palette.
  • One palette for every frame: open all frames of an animation together and they share one palette, so colours never flicker between frames.
  • Dithering: ordered 2x2, 4x4 and 8x8, Floyd-Steinberg and Atkinson, with a strength slider.
  • Clean-up: hard transparency (no half-see-through pixels), lone-pixel removal, outlines outside or inside the shape.
  • Before / after slider, side-by-side view and the palette shown as swatches.

Save it the way your engine wants it

  • PNG at 1x to 8x, every image in one ZIP, all frames as one sprite sheet with a JSON map, or an animated GIF.
  • Open a GIF and it is split into frames: convert an animation and save it again.
  • Save the palette as .hex, .gpl or .png for Aseprite, GIMP, Krita or Lospec.
  • Presets: save your settings and palette to a file, load them later, share them.

Runs everywhere, private

One HTML file: double-click it and it opens in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux or a Chromebook. No install and no account. Your images never leave your computer. Tested in Chrome and Edge on Windows.

Try before you buy

The free demo does everything, but saves results up to 64x64 pixels. The full version saves any size and whole batches.

How it was made

The code was written with the help of an AI coding assistant and tested by us with automated checks (sizes, palettes, dithering, palette files, shared palettes, outlines, saving). The sample picture was drawn by our own code.
