About this pack

A pixel art isometric map kit: 359 pieces on one exact 32x16 diamond grid (blocks are 32x32 sprites): ground blocks in 11 materials, ramps and stairs, water, lava and ice, roads that join, fences and walls, trees, crops, props and 12 ready-made buildings, plus a separate shadow sprite for every tree, prop and building. For tactics RPGs, strategy and city builders, farming and life sims, roguelikes and adventure games.

Build scenes with this pack: every piece of it is in the Gridwright Isometric Builder, an isometric map maker that runs in your browser, with all seven Gridwright isometric packs inside and Godot, Tiled and PNG export.

Licence in one line: use it in your commercial games; do not resell the files. No credit required.

What you get

  • Blocks (44) and floors (33): grass, autumn grass, snow, dirt, tilled soil, sand, stone, cobblestone, brick, wooden planks and dungeon stone; 3 full blocks, a half block and 3 flat floor tiles per material. Stack them for hills, cliffs and walls.
  • Ramps and stairs (56): ramps in 6 materials up towards all 4 corners (a lower and an upper half, so the slope shows from every side), stone and wooden stairs in 4 directions.
  • Water, lava and ice (26 + 16 foam): animated water and lava blocks and floors, waterfalls for the left and right face of a block, shore foam for each side, ice for winter.
  • Roads that autotile (45): dirt path, cobblestone road and sand path, 15 corner pieces each, transparent outside the road, so they lie on any ground block.
  • Fences, walls and hedges (52): wooden fence, low stone wall and hedge with 16 joins each (picked by the neighbours, so any shape connects), and a wooden gate both ways, open and closed.
  • Nature (34) and crops (4): oaks (large, small, autumn, blossom, snowy), pines (plain and snowy), birch, dead tree, palm, 5 bushes, 5 rocks, flowers, grass, reeds, mushrooms, stump, logs, lily pads, cactus; wheat, corn, pumpkins and cabbages for crop fields.
  • Props (31 kinds, 37 sprites with the frames): barrels, crates, chests (closed and open), sacks, signs, lamp posts (day and lit), an animated campfire and brazier, a well, benches, a table, a stool, a haystack, carts, a tent, market stalls, an anvil, a woodpile, a bucket, a scarecrow, tombstones and wooden bridges.
  • 12 buildings: a cottage, a stone house, a log cabin, a woodcutter's shed, a round tower and a mine entrance, each with the door facing left or right (drawn both ways, not mirrored, so the light stays on the same side).
  • 58 shadow sprites: no shadow is baked into the art; each tree, prop and building has its own solid shadow with the same anchor, to draw at the opacity you like (or not at all).

Made to drop in

  • One exact grid: the ground diamond is 32x16, a block is 16 px tall, every file is a multiple of 16 px. Pixel centres never fall on a diamond's edge, so tiles meet with no gap and no overlap; the build checks it.
  • One JSON for everything (isometric.json): every sprite's footprint, anchor and height, the road corners, the fence joins, ramp directions and frames, plus the placement formula and the draw order in the README.
  • Clear names: block_grass_01.png, ramp_stone_up_ne_low.png, path_cobble_05.png, fence_wood_06.png, cottage_left.png.
  • Single PNGs and sheets at 1x, 2x and 3x, and the palette (.hex, .gpl).
  • The maps in the screenshots were put together from these same sprites, with the shadow sprites on.

Try before you buy

The free sample has 72 sprites: grass, dirt and stone blocks, the grass ramps in 4 directions, animated water with foam, the 15 dirt-road pieces, the 16 wooden-fence joins, an oak, a pine, a bush, a barrel, a crate, a lamp post and the cottage, with their shadows.

What it does not include

No characters or animals, no interiors, no corner ramps (straight ramps only), no RPG Maker sheets and no engine project files (the README gives the placement formula and the draw order). The art is drawn at 1x; the 2x and 3x files are scaled copies.

Licence

Use and modify in personal and commercial projects. Shipping the tiles inside your game is fine. No resale or redistribution of the assets, modified or not. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.

How it was made

Every piece is drawn by code: a small ray caster draws each block, tree, prop and building from simple solids on the exact 2:1 grid, lights it from the left and bands it onto 6-tone colour ramps. The code was written with AI-assisted tools. No image generator was used, and no third-party art is included.
