Platformer Tileset

A side-view 16x16 pixel art tileset for platformers: 285 pieces with real autotiles and parallax backgrounds. Grassland, castle stone, snow and desert levels for platformers and metroidvanias.

Licence in one line: use it in your commercial games; do not resell the files.

What you get

• 47-tile autotile sets (188 tiles): grass, stone, snow, sand. Caps on top, edges on the sides, rounded corners.
• Platforms, ladders, vines, chains and spikes (26 pieces).
• Water and lava with 4-frame animated surfaces.
• 28 props: crates, barrel, chest, lever, button, spring, door, signs, plants, an animated torch and a waving flag.
• 23 collectible frames: spinning coin, gems in 3 colours, heart, star, key.
• Parallax backgrounds: sky, clouds, mountains, hills and forest, 256x144 and seamless, in day and dusk.

Made to drop in

• Strict 16x16 grid. The door, cactus and flag are 16x32.
• The neighbour bitmask is in every terrain file name and in tiles.json, so you can wire the sets to any engine.
• Single PNGs and sheets, at 1x, 2x and 3x, and a README with the bitmask diagram.

The demo level in the screenshots was assembled by a small autotiler from these same tiles. The hero and the monsters in it come from Gridwright Top-Down Characters and Gridwright Pixel Monsters (sold separately).

Try before you buy

The free sample has 66 pieces: the full grass set, wood platforms, spikes, props, the coin and two background layers.

Licence

Use and modify in personal and commercial projects. Shipping the tiles inside your game is fine. No resale or redistribution of the assets, modified or not. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.

How it was made

Every piece is drawn by code: the autotile edges are exact geometry, so the pieces always meet. The code was written with AI-assisted tools. No image generator was used, and no third-party art is included.
