What's in the pack
A pixel art isometric haunted mansion: 258 pieces on one exact 32x16 diamond grid: rotting walls in 4 finishes (full and cut-away), 7 floors with broken boards, a secret bookcase door, and animated horror furniture: a grandfather clock whose pendulum swings, a rocking chair that rocks by itself, a portrait whose eyes follow you, coffins that open, a floating ghost and wisps. Furniture comes in all 4 rotations, each with its own shadow sprite. For horror games, RPGs, Halloween levels, escape rooms, tactics and roguelikes.
Licence in one line: use it in your commercial games; do not resell the files. No credit required.
What you get
- Walls (64): rotting damask with peeling patches and water streaks, dark panelling, cracked plaster with mould and the lath showing, damp stone with moss and drips; 16 pieces each: both back walls, an inner corner, an end post, a doorway and a tall moonlit window with a broken pane on each side, the same set as low cut-away walls, and two mixed corners.
- Floors (21): rotten boards, dusty parquet, worn chequer, mouldy carpet, damp flagstone, cellar dirt and broken boards with a hole to the dark below; 3 variants each, all repeating every tile.
- Doors (24): a creaky plank door, a gothic panel door and a secret bookcase door for each wall side, 4 frames from closed to open.
- Furniture in 4 rotations (14 pieces): grand piano with missing keys, four-poster bed with torn drapes, wingback chair, sheet-covered armchair and sofa, dusty bookshelf with a skull, gothic chair, old wardrobe hanging open, writing desk with letters and a candle, wine rack, a staircase up to a full wall's height, a grandfather clock with a swinging pendulum, a rocking chair that rocks, and a coffin in 4 states with a skeleton inside.
- Animated horror props: a floating ghost and a ring of wisps, a standing candelabra, floor candles, a black marble fireplace with fire, candle sconces and a portrait whose eyes follow you (they glow red on the last frame).
- And more: a seance table with a crystal ball, a chalk summoning circle, a moth-eaten rug, a fallen chandelier, a long dining table with a candelabra, a dress form, a dead plant, piles of books and bones, barrels and crates, and wall decor for both sides (moonlit painting, cracked mirror, cobwebs, torn curtains, chains).
- 70 shadow sprites: no shadow is baked into the art; draw them at the opacity you like, or not at all.
Made to drop in
- One exact grid: the floor diamond is 32x16 and every file is a multiple of 16 px. Floors tile with no gap and no overlap, walls share one canvas and anchor, and every wall pattern runs on from cell to cell; the build checks it.
- The same grid and wall kit as Gridwright Isometric Interiors and Graveyard & Crypt, so a cosy house can have one haunted wing and the graveyard can have its mansion.
- Every rotation drawn on its own, not mirrored, so the light stays on the same side.
- One JSON for everything (isometric.json): every sprite's footprint, anchor, facing, height, wall side, frames and shadow, plus the placement formula and the draw order in the README. Works in Tiled or any engine.
- Clear names: wall_damask_ne_window.png, door_bookcase_nw_f3.png, grandfather_clock_sw_f2.png, ghost_f4.png.
- Single PNGs and sheets at 1x, 2x and 3x, and the palette (.hex, .gpl).
- The rooms in the screenshots were put together from these same sprites, with the shadow sprites on.
Build scenes with this pack
Every piece of it goes into the Gridwright Isometric Builder, our browser map maker, with the other isometric packs.
What it does not include
No player characters and no monsters other than the ghost and the wisps (Gridwright Isometric Characters and Isometric Monsters fit this grid), no roofs or outside walls, no RPG Maker sheets and no engine project files (the README gives the placement formula and the draw order). Windows come in full-height walls only. The art is drawn at 1x; the 2x and 3x files are scaled copies.
Licence
Use and modify in personal and commercial projects. Shipping the sprites inside your game is fine. No resale or redistribution of the assets, modified or not. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.
How it was made
Every piece is drawn by code: a small ray caster draws each wall, floor and piece of furniture from simple solids on the exact 2:1 grid, turns it to all four sides, lights it from the left and bands it onto 6-tone colour ramps. The code was written with AI-assisted tools. No image generator was used, and no third-party art is included.
