What's in the pack
18 original pixel art creatures for monster-taming games: 6 evolution lines of 3 stages in 6 types (fire, water, plant, electric, earth, dark), 247 sprites in all. For creature collectors, monster tamers, turn-based RPGs and pet games.
Licence in one line: use it in your commercial games; do not resell the files. No credit required.
Every creature has
- A 64x64 battle sprite facing the player and one seen from behind, each with a 2-frame idle.
- A 32x32 overworld follower in 4 directions with 2 walk frames each.
- A 32x32 menu icon on a disc in its type's colour.
The 18 creatures
Emberkit -> Blazefang -> Infernox (fire); Puddlefin -> Tidesnout -> Abyssurge (water); Sproutle -> Thornbloom -> Grovelord (plant); Sparkmite -> Voltbeetle -> Stormscarab (electric); Pebbit -> Craghorn -> Montusk (earth); Gloomwisp -> Shadebat -> Nyxwing (dark).
Each stage grows and gains features (bigger crests, wings, fins, shells, horns), and all stages stand on the same ground line, so an evolution can swap the sprite in place.
Types and data
- 6 type icons at 16x16 and 32x32 and a type chart picture (rows attack, columns defend).
- creatures.json: name, type, stage, evolves from, evolves into and file names for every creature, plus the type chart as numbers.
Made to drop in
- Exact cells: 64x64 battle sprites, 32x32 followers and icons, at 1x, 2x and 3x, each as its own PNG and on sprite sheets with JSON maps.
- The battle screen in the screenshots uses a simple HP plate and text box drawn for the picture only (not included); everything else shown is in the pack.
What it does not include
No attack animations or effects, no UI, no tiles or backgrounds, no sound. The art is drawn at 1x; the 2x and 3x files are scaled copies.
Licence
Use and modify in personal and commercial projects. Shipping the sprites inside your game is fine. No resale or redistribution of the assets, modified or not. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.
How it was made
Every creature is drawn by code from one parametric body plus each line's own features, rasterised with supersampling and shaded like hand-typed pixel art. The code was written with AI-assisted tools. No image generator was used, and no third-party art is included. The designs are our own and not based on any existing game's creatures.
