Pixel Art Upscaler
Bigger pixel art without blur
Your files stay on your computer: nothing is uploaded. Already blurry, or not on a pixel grid? The Pixelator puts it back on clean pixels. A tool you want next? Tell us in our Discord.
The Pixel Art Upscaler lets you upscale pixel art without blur. It resizes by nearest neighbour and whole numbers only, 2x to 16x, so every pixel becomes a sharp square block: no soft edges, no smudged colours, and no pixel twice as wide as its neighbour, which is what a 1.5x resize does.
Drop one sprite, a whole sheet or a folder. A sheet's data comes along: JSON atlases (TexturePacker, Aseprite and our packs), Tiled tilesets and Godot 4 .tres files get their frame positions and sizes scaled by the same number, so the frames still line up. A folder keeps its names and structure in the ZIP.
Side by side, the page shows your picture smooth-resized, the way most editors and engines do it by default, and crisp, the way you download it. It also spots art that was already scaled up and can shrink it to its real pixels first. It never uploads your files.
A first session
- 1Drop a sprite, a sheet or a folder on the box (or try our sample).
- 2Pick a scale from 2x to 16x and compare smooth against crisp.
- 3Add the sheet's .json or .tres if you have one; it is scaled with the picture.
- 4Download the PNG, or a ZIP for several files.
- It exports
- PNG at 2x to 16x
- ZIP for many files or a folder
- Scaled JSON atlases, Tiled tilesets and Godot .tres
- Try it, then buy it
- Try it free on this page. Downloading what you make comes with the tool, bought once.
- Can I use what I make in a commercial game?
- Yes. What you make with the tools is yours to use in your games, commercial ones too, under the Gridwright licence.
