Cat Adventurers cover

What's in the pack

8 side-view pixel art cat heroes on 32x32 cells, each with 20 frames of animation: idle (4), run (6), attack (4), hurt (2), death (4). 160 frames in all. For platformers, action RPGs, roguelites and cozy adventures that star cats.

Licence in one line: use it in your commercial games; do not resell the files. No credit required.

The heroes

Knight (Sir Whiskers, sword), Wizard (Merlynx, staff), Rogue (Shade, dagger), Archer (Fern, bow), Cleric (Snowpaw, mace), Witch (Pumpkin, wand), Pirate (Captain Tabby, cutlass), Ninja (Kage, katana).

Each has its own fur, outfit, headgear and weapon: a cream knight in a steel helmet, a ginger wizard in a blue hat, a black rogue in a hood, a tabby archer with a feathered cap, a white cleric with a gold circlet, a black witch with yellow eyes, a ginger pirate in a bandana, a grey ninja in a mask.

Made to drop in

  • Exact 32x32 cells, feet on the same row in every frame, facing right (flip for left).
  • Every frame as its own PNG, one strip per animation and one sheet per hero, at 1x, 2x, 3x and 4x.
  • cats.json: names, classes, weapons, frame counts, suggested fps, the attack's hit frame and the feet anchor.
  • The backgrounds and text in the screenshots are previews (not included).

What it does not include

No left-facing copies (flip in your engine), no effects, projectiles, tiles or sound. The art is drawn at 1x; 2x-4x are scaled copies.

Licence

Use and modify in personal and commercial projects. Shipping the sprites inside your game is fine. No resale or redistribution of the assets, modified or not. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.

How it was made

Every frame is drawn by code from one parametric cat plus each class's headgear and weapon, posed per frame and shaded like hand-typed pixel art. The code was written with AI-assisted tools. No image generator was used, and no third-party art is included.
