Isometric City People cover

What's in the pack

Small isometric pixel art people for city games: 20 modern pedestrians and city workers, 22-23 px tall, in 8 directions (every one drawn, none mirrored), with idle, walk and phone animations. 2560 frames at the scale of Gridwright Isometric City, so they fill its streets without towering over the buildings.

Licence in one line: use them in your commercial games; do not resell the files. No credit required.

What you get

  • 14 pedestrians: Man in a T-shirt, Woman in a dress, Student with a backpack, Office worker, Business woman, Jogger, Grandpa, Grandma, Teen in a hoodie, Tourist, Woman in jeans, Punk, Man in a coat, Young woman.
  • 6 city workers: Chef, Police officer, Paramedic, Builder, Courier, Street sweeper.
  • 3 animations x 8 directions: idle (4 frames), walk (8 frames) and phone (4 frames: talking on a phone, for people who wait at a crossing or stand in a queue).
  • Every frame as its own PNG and as sheets (a row per direction) at 1x, 2x and 3x, a flat shadow, palettes.

Made for game code

  • characters.json and a JSON per person: cell, anchor (the point between the feet), fps, loop, the grid step of every direction and the walk speed in px per frame, so the feet stay planted.
  • The placement formula for the 32x16 diamond is in the README.
  • 32x32 cells, 1 px clear of the edge; the build checks every frame (no empty or half-transparent pixels, the feet on the anchor, every direction a different drawing).

Use them with

Made at the scale of Gridwright Isometric City (roads, buildings, cars) and the same 32x16 grid as Isometric Tiles, Interiors and Wasteland (sold separately). Build scenes with this pack: every person is in the Gridwright Isometric Builder, a browser map maker for all our isometric packs.

What it does not include

No run, sit or attack animations, no vehicles or buildings (those are in Isometric City), no sound. The ground in the screenshots is drawn for the previews only.

Licence

Use and modify in personal and commercial projects. Shipping the sprites inside your game is fine. No resale or redistribution of the assets, modified or not. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.

How it was made

Every frame is rendered by code (Python): a 3D rig of simple shapes posed per frame, seen by the 2:1 isometric camera, shaded from the top left onto small colour ramps and outlined pixel by pixel. No image generator, no third-party art. The code was written with AI-assisted tools, which is why the page is tagged AI Assisted.
