Cozy Villagers cover

What's in the pack

23 cozy villagers for farming and life-sim games, top-down pixel art on a 16x16 grid, each in 4 directions with idle, walk and sit animations, a 32x32 portrait for dialogue and 12 emote bubbles. Drop them into a village and it comes alive.

Licence in one line: use them in any personal or commercial game; do not resell the sprites.

What you get

  • 23 villagers: Farmer, Farm Girl, Baker, Fisher, Blacksmith, Shopkeeper, Mayor, Elder, Gardener, Musician, Cafe Owner, Carpenter, Florist, Shepherd, Teacher, Doctor, Innkeeper, Cook, Traveler, Beekeeper, Kid (boy), Kid (girl), School Kid.
  • 32 frames each (736 in all): idle 2, walk 4 and sit 2 frames in down, left, right and up.
  • 23 portraits at 32x32 (and 2x, 3x) for dialogue boxes.
  • 12 emote bubbles with 3 frames each (pop, show, bounce): heart, music, exclaim, question, zzz, sweat, anger, idea, dots, star, sad, coin.
  • Sheets at 1x, 2x, 3x and 4x, every frame as its own PNG, sheets of all villagers, portraits and emotes, and villagers.json with the frame order and fps.

Why these

  • Grown-ups and kids: 20 villagers with jobs and 3 children on a shorter body with the same head size, in the same 16x16 cells.
  • Cozy clothes: aprons, overalls, straw hats, a chef hat, headscarves, raincoat and leather apron in an earthy palette.
  • An idle and a sit animation for every villager, not only walking.
  • Emotes and portraits included, so dialogue and reactions work out of the box.
  • Same 16x16 grid as our Farm and Medieval Village tilesets and the same rig as Modern People.

What it does not include

No layered character creator (see Gridwright Modern People for that), no work or tool animations, no tiles (the screenshots are code-drawn grass).

Licence

Use and modify them in personal and commercial games and apps, and ship them inside your game. Do not resell or redistribute the sprites themselves. Credit is appreciated, not required. Not for AI training or NFTs.

How it was made

Every sprite is drawn by code (Python): body-part maps per pose and clothes that paint those parts, in our own palette. No image generator, no third-party art. The code was written with AI-assisted tools, which is why the page is tagged AI Assisted.
