What's in the pack
A pixel art GUI and HUD for strategy games on a strict 16x16 grid: 67 sprites in each of 4 themes (Kingdom, Command, Nexus, Wildlands) plus 332 shared sprites, 600 sprites in all. For RTS, turn-based tactics, 4X, wargames, tower defense, autobattlers and city builders.
Licence in one line: use it in your commercial games; do not resell the files. No credit required.
Everything a strategy screen needs
- A command card: 32x32 command buttons in 5 states (normal, hover, pressed, disabled, active), a hotkey tag with white letters A-Z and 0-9, a cooldown sweep (8 frames) and an autocast border (4 frames).
- 37 command icons: move, attack, attack move, attack target, stop, hold position, patrol, gather, build, repair, return cargo, rally point, upgrade, research, cancel, demolish, train, garrison, ungarrison, three stances, three formations, load, unload, heal, scout, stealth, siege mode, make camp, retreat, select all, explore, trade, cast spell.
- 16 resource icons (gold, wood, stone, food, meat, iron, oil, crystal, energy, population, housing, mana, industry, culture, happiness, time) and 16 unit class icons (infantry, spearman, archer, cavalry, siege, worker, mage, healer, hero, tank, artillery, aircraft, ship, tower, castle, supply wagon). Every icon at 16x16, 32x32 and in white, with names and suggested hotkeys in icons.json.
- A top resource bar and resource pills with an icon socket.
- A minimap kit: a 9-slice minimap frame, zoom / ping / terrain buttons, unit and building dots in 4 team colours, an animated ping and a 9-slice camera box.
- Selection: a 48x48 portrait frame, unit cards with a health strip (normal, hover, selected), control-group tags.
- Production: queue slots and bar frames with health, mana, production, xp and energy fills.
- A tech tree kit: nodes in 4 states (locked, available, researching, done) and 11 connectors (straight lines, corners, tees and a cross) that join seamlessly.
- Turn-based pieces: an END TURN button (normal, hover, pressed), a turn plate, YOUR TURN and ENEMY TURN.
- World markers (43 sprites): selection rings in 3 sizes and 4 team colours, health pips in 6 levels, move and attack markers (4 frames each), an animated rally flag, a waypoint, placement tiles (square and isometric, ok and blocked), rank chevrons 1-5 and veterancy stars.
- An alert banner, VICTORY and DEFEAT titles, UNDER ATTACK, RESEARCH COMPLETE, PAUSED, a faction banner, 4 cursors (select, attack, build, forbidden).
4 themes, one layout
Kingdom: dark oak with steel corner brackets and gold rivets. Command: olive drab steel with amber chevron corners and bolts. Nexus: navy sci-fi plating with a cyan inner glow and corner nodes. Wildlands: weathered stone and bone with curved tusk corners and green accents. Every theme has the same sprites, the same file names and the same sheet layout, so you reskin a whole UI by swapping one folder. They are not recolours: each theme has its own corner ornament, border profile and accent colour.
Per theme: panels 5, top bar 2, buttons 13, command card 6, minimap 5, selection 6, production 4, tech tree 15, turn 5, ornaments 6.
Made to drop in
- Strict 16x16 grid: every sprite is a multiple of 16 px, for 320x180, 480x270 and 640x360 games.
- 9-slice ready: the ornaments live in the corner cells, so panels, the minimap frame, bars and banners stretch to any size. The margins, content areas, sockets, health strips and cursor hotspots are in the JSON.
- Every sprite as its own PNG and on a sprite sheet with a JSON map, at 1x, 2x and 3x, plus palettes (.hex, .gpl) and a README with the command card, tech tree, minimap and world-marker recipes.
- Matches our isometric packs: the same 4 team colours as Gridwright Isometric Army, and isometric placement tiles for the 32x16 grid of Gridwright Isometric Tiles. The battlefield in the first screenshot is made from those two packs (sold separately); everything on top of it is this pack.
What it does not include
No font, units, maps or sound, no engine project, no Aseprite files. The art is drawn at 1x; the 2x and 3x files are scaled copies, and the 32x32 icons are smoothed from the same drawings as the 16x16 ones.
