Getting Started with Isometric Pixel Art Maps

Gridwright pack artwork for Getting Started with Isometric Pixel Art Maps

Isometric pixel art uses a 2:1 line: two pixels across for every pixel up. That produces clean diagonal edges with no jagged steps.

Heights and sorting

Objects further down the screen draw on top. In Godot, enable Y Sort on the TileMap layer; in Tiled, use a staggered or isometric map with layers per height.

Keep one grid

All Gridwright isometric packs share the same 32x32 footprint, so dungeons, graveyards, interiors and characters drop into one map.
